We exist to eliminate fear as a barrier to human potential — for striving entrepreneurs, for the elderly, and for the next generation. A hand up, not a handout.
Across scripture, the same people are told the same thing — "fear not" — hundreds of times. One of the most repeated commands in the whole canon. We took the name from that, and we took the work from the simple observation that fear is what stands between most people and the life they were meant to live. The lion in our mark carries a hidden cross in the mane and a hidden sword in the chin — a quiet reminder that courage and conviction were never meant to be separated.
01 · Our Mission
Ask hard-working people what's really holding them back. Listen long enough and the answer is rarely laziness, rarely talent, rarely bad luck.
It's fear. Almost every time.
Fear of failure. Fear of judgment. Fear that they don't have what it takes. Fear wearing a thousand different faces — and every one of them a lie.
Fear Not Foundation is a faith-rooted, universally welcoming nonprofit serving the Alabama Gulf Coast and surrounding South Alabama counties. Faith motivates the founders and gives the Foundation its creed — but faith is never a condition of service. No applicant is screened for religious affiliation, attendance, or practice, and we do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability.
02 · Three Pillars, One Mission
Each pillar serves a documented community need with a structured application, approval and follow-up process. Our planned 50/25/25 funding split makes the entrepreneur pillar the engine — because lifted entrepreneurs become tomorrow's givers. These are stewardship targets we are building toward and will report against annually once we have operating history and an audited Form 990.

Our financial model assumes a conservative voluntary give-back rate among graduates two-plus years out — even at modest participation, capital compounds, and the people we serve become the people who help fund the next class.

A Launchpad seed grant. Tools, licensing, a first run of inventory — enough to turn a side hustle into a registered business.

A Comfort & Dignity intervention. A month of utilities for a fixed-income senior, a porch repair, an unpaid pharmacy bill — cleared and quiet.

A Next Generation school-year package for a working family — supplies, uniforms, fees, a tutor stipend, and a continuing relationship.

A Launchpad full grant with mentor match and 90-day accountability — the board threshold, the deepest single-grant commitment we make.

A directed gift across a pillar, or a Compassion Fund deposit for the emergency cases that cannot wait on a cycle (target 7-day decision once our first cycle opens Q1 2027). Named, tracked, reported.
Every gift
Routed by the published 50 / 25 / 25 pillar split, with 15% of total grant capital held back as a rolling Compassion Fund. Reported by pillar, by dollars distributed, by outcomes against published criteria.

05 · From the founders
We started with personal capital because skin in the game is the only credibility that matters when you're asking someone else to trust their story to strangers. Before this foundation existed, there was no board, no plan, no brochure — just a conviction that wouldn't let go.
This isn't about a family or a founding board. It's about the neighbor who has a real shot at something better and one too many reasons to talk themselves out of it. The single mom who could run a business if someone would just stand next to her for the first six months. The veteran who came home and never quite landed. The young man with a trade and no map. The widow who just wants somewhere to be on the first Tuesday of the month — a brunch, a table, a name remembered.
The work ahead belongs to the people we'll love and serve — not to us. We're stewards. They're the story.

Our 501(c)(3) application is filed and under IRS review. We are holding live giving until our determination clears and our Alabama charitable solicitation registration is on file — out of respect for your money and the law. Add your name and we'll write you the day giving opens, with the founder's letter and the current grant slate.
